Kashmir being the main victim of hostility: Mufti


Jammu, Jan 3: People's Democratic Party founder Mufti Muhammad Sayeed demanded both the nations to initiate steps to resolve the ongoing Kashmir problem. Mufti on Sunday, Jan 2, said that Kashmir issue could not be put in cold storage anymore without risking the region's future.


Buzz up!Mufti said, “the latest opinion polls conducted by The Times of India and Jang showed that an overwhelming majority of people wanted the issue to be resolved.”


Mufti called both the nation to restarted the talks between the Foreign Ministers. He (Mufti) said the govt of India should facilitate the visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to New Delhi, for talks with his counterpart SM Krishna.

“Jammu and Kashmir being the main victim of hostility, has the highest stake in the sub continental peace process initiated in 2003,” Mufti said.

“The interest and stakes of one-and-a-half billion people could not be held hostage to the routine political development within the democratic structure of the two countries,” he added.
